Sananga
Sanaga eye drops (or bechette) are made from the shredded root of a shrub - Tabernaemontana Sanana that grows in the rainforest. It's used as an eye medicine, the active ingredient is ibogaine. It is used by many indigenous people throughout Brazil and Peru.
They are powerful eye drops that operate on many levels of healing: physical, spiritual and energetic.
What Happens - My Story - Properties of Sanaga
I start my kambo ceremonies with sananga, it's a ceremony in itself it grounds and opens people in prepration for kambo. You lie down and close your eyes and I put a drop on each eye lid. When you open your eyes it goes in and stings! Some people like having their eyelids held open for application, my eyes are watering just thinking about that!
You quickly close your eyes again, you focus on your breathing and relax as much as you can. Each time you open your eyes you get the stinging sensation until it's finished, this is usually 6 - 8 minutes. It's quite a thing. For me I was so suprised at the sensation I sat bolt upright, and still I feel more comfortable upright to this day. My tears flowed as my eyes reacted to the sting and then suddenly my tears changed, I was crying other peoples tears that I had been carrying around. I saw faces of the some of the children I have fostered over the years and other people who I am close to, but worried about. I was shedding everybody elses pain that I had been carrying without knowing. It was incredible, it lasted half an hour not 6 minutes!

The second time I did sanaga it was much the same process but the tears I cried were my own. It also lasted a normal amount of time. Since then I haven't been crying emotional tears during sanaga, they seem to have gone. I love the cleanliness in the eyes, the bravery of doing it because of the stinging, and the clarity in my brain afterwards. It's common to do a 21 or 30 day sananga dieta, doing sanaga every day to really get to know the medicine. I started but haven't completed it that yet as I write this.

Properties of Sanaga
The ibogaine acts directly on the root causes of disease, and dilutes the forces that create panema (negative energy/depression). Physically it cleans, refreshes and has been indicated in the treatment of gloucoma, cataracts, astigmatism, conjuctivitis, dry and red eyes, photophobia, keratoconus, eye infection, sinusitis and chronic headaches. It's considered a great ally for the treatment of chronic pain.

Visual Enhancment
It gives the environment greater texture and depth, improving colour perception and image definition. The world looks softer and more vibrant. It is sometimes used in ceremonies that include psychadelics. Hunters use this for the sharpened vision, spotting animals in the dense forest.

3rd Eye
It can open the 3rd eye, and I have experienced this. It's amazing, it also cleans and expands the aura and balances the chakras. This keeps people balanced emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Panema - Depression
People believe that sanaga can clear away panema so it's a useful tool used with kambo which does the same.. Sananga can uplift and centre a person at any time.

Using Sananga
It should only be used once a day, it should be kept in the frige and shaken each time it is used. Take a week long break every few months. It's fine if you have had lazer surgery just wait 8 weeks to use it.

A message from the Yawanawa Tribe:
When night falls, we gather around the fire to call upon the wisdon of our elders and of the UNI, ayahuasca, our most sacred plant. Medicine, Rume snuff, (Hape) made from a mix of tobacco and ashes collected from the bark of the tsuni trees, and sananga, stinging eye drops made from the root jiuce of the jungle shrub, and also called upon to deepen the visions. In the morning we take kambo known as the 'vaccine of the forest'. The spirits are awakened, their chants echo deep into the night. For Yawanawa, these are fundamental ingredients for healing and transformation.
